Job description

Software Architect

NFISA091123HO_1699527602

Are you a Software Architect with a passion for shaping the future of maritime industry? We are looking for a architect from a development background to join our clients team and be part of a cutting-edge simulation system that empowers users to excel at sea, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

As a Software Architect, your role goes beyond coding. You'll assume a top-level perspective, analyzing our existing codebase and orchestrating crucial design choices. Your expertise will help determine the platforms, languages, frameworks, libraries, and tools required for seamlessly integrating new features with our existing codebase. It's your responsibility to uphold best practices, coding standards, and technical requirements, ensuring our software development teams stay on the right course.

Your contribution extends to our technical infrastructure and software applications, encompassing system integration, effective communication with stakeholders, and defining solutions that meet business demands. Collaborating closely with agile development teams, you'll engage in the full software development lifecycle, from design and development to testing and maintenance.

Some of your responsibilities:

  • Understand, manage, communicate, and enforce our software architecture roadmap.
  • Define and document architecture and design, guiding the software development process through high-level decision making.
  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Coach and mentor team members, including software engineers, programmers, and testers.
  • Create and maintain design and code standards, acting as a technical liaison among project managers, developers, and stakeholders. Ensure code standards are upheld through the review of pull requests.

Your qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience as an architect
  • Been working a minimum for 5 years as a .NET developer
  • Possess a strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and software design patterns, as well as familiarity with software build tools, Microsoft Azure, Visual Studio, C#, JavaScript, Git, and agile methodologies like Scrum.
  • Love mathematics, physics, and engineering.
  • Experience with testing frameworks, such as NUnit, is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Showcase a genuine passion for software architecture and a commitment to driving innovation in maritime education and research.
